An alliance of Lendlease, CPB Contractors, WSP| Parsons Brinckerhoff, Aurecon, LXRA and Metro Trains Melbourne has been selected by the Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) as the preferred consortium to design and construct the Level Crossing Removal Project: Caulfield to Dandenong.

The project will remove nine level crossings between Caulfield and Dandenong in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and see five railway stations rebuilt at Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Hughesdale, Clayton and Noble Park. Power and signalling upgrades will also be carried out between Flinders Street Station and Pakenham Station.

Lendlease will deliver the Caulfield to Dandenong package as part of an Alliance with (MTM).

Construction is scheduled to commence in June 2016 and will be complete by mid-2018.

The project is part of the Victorian government’s commitment to remove at least 20 level crossings by 2018 and 50 by 2022.

Craig Laslett, Managing Director, Engineering at Lendlease, said, “Lendlease is excited be part of this innovative transport infrastructure and urban regeneration project. We believe the Green Line is an outstanding solution for the communities of south-eastern Melbourne
