CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors was selected by GoldLinQ Pty Ltd as the preferred contractor to deliver Stage Two of the Gold Coast Light Rail Project.
The Queensland State Government announced $420m funding for Stage Two, which incorporates design and construction (D&C), and operations and maintenance through to 2029. CPB will be responsible for the D&C component.
CPB is working with GoldLinQ to refine the tender proposal, with final documents expected to be signed in mid-April. Construction is expected to take place from April 2016 to late 2017.
The works encompass 7.3km of dual track between the Gold Coast University Hospital and Helensvale, linking Stage One with the Brisbane to Gold Coast rail line; new light rail stations at Parkwood East, Parkwood and Helensvale; a new 1000 space park and ride facility at Parkwood and a 400-space park and ride at Helensvale.
