Bomag launches fifth generation compactors at bauma

Bomag has launched a new single drum roller range in the 11-26t static weight range.

An Ecomode function is claimed to reduce fuel consumption by up to 30% without compromising compaction performance. An Ecostop function is optional.

The BW 213, 219 and 226 models feature Bomag’s Variocontrol (BVC) automatic compaction control. A single rotary switch is integrated into the arm of the seat: in manual mode, the operator chooses the required amplitude while in automatic mode, the operator can specify EVIB values and Variocontrol takes over control of the amplitude.

Variocontrol automatically ensures that energy is constantly transmitted at the optimum level, preventing over-compaction and minimising the number of passes required.

The high gradeability DN versions incorporates two pumps supplying two hydraulic motors. This is claimed to make the machines far more stable when operating on steep slopes, with gradeability of over 60% possible.
